Phlebotomist

Job Description

We are looking for a full-time Phlebotomist to join our team at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a vital role in our healthcare team by ensuring the proper collection, packaging, and transport of specimens, as well as demonstrating a patient-centered approach to your work.

Responsibilities

• Promote professionalism and maintain a cooperative working environment.
• Obtain specimens following laboratory guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with care providers regarding patient data.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Follow procedural directions and protocols efficiently.
• Assist in workload organization to ensure productivity.
• Adhere to proper specimen packaging and transport protocols.
• Perform specimen accessioning and drug screen collection.
• Practice infection control and proper patient identification.
• Recognize and react to emergent conditions appropriately.
• Provide phlebotomy services in a professional and patient-centered manner.
• Evaluate and improve practice knowledge and skills.
• Ensure quality of care for the patient.
• Promote service excellence and laboratory growth.
• Collaborate with multiple departments in the healthcare system.
• Perform arterial punctures and additional assigned duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Basic computer skills.
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy/medical assistant program or previous phlebotomy experience (preferred).
• Experience working in a clinical setting (preferred).
