Job Description
The University of Vermont Health Network is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Pre/Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team. As an RN in the PACU, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive care to patients before, during, and after surgical/invasive procedures.
Unit Description
The PACU RN will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, deliver care, and evaluate outcomes, ensuring a seamless perioperative experience for patients. Responsibilities include pre-procedure preparation, intra-procedure patient monitoring, post-procedure critical evaluation, complications anticipation, pain management, and patient/family education.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Registered Professional Nurse license in New York State.
- Minimum of two years of med/surg nursing experience; Critical Care experience preferred.
- ACLS required; PALS certification within 12 months.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
- Competency in IV therapy, venipuncture, and ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
