Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join The University of Vermont Health Network. As part of the Pre/Post Anesthesia Care Unit team, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive care to patients throughout their perioperative journey: from pre-procedure preparation to post-procedure evaluation and education. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to gain proficiency in two out of three areas within Perioperative Services, including Operating Room Circulating Nurse, Pre/Post Nurse, or Endoscopy Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process.
• Ensure a seamless perioperative experience for patients undergoing surgical/invasive procedures.
• Provide crucial pre-procedure preparation, intra-procedure support, and post-procedure critical evaluation.
• Anticipate, prevent, and manage complications, deliver effective pain management, and offer patient/family education.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN license in New York State.
• Completion of physical/pre-placement screening.
• Minimum two years of med/surg nursing experience; Critical Care experience preferred.
• ACLS required; PALS certification within 12 months.
