Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Registered Nurse (RN) with a focus on Med Surg to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health in Grafton, Wisconsin. This position involves providing essential care to patients under the supervision of RNs, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and well-being.

Major Responsibilities

  • Assist RNs with daily patient care activities such as hygiene, feeding, and mobility support.
  • Document vital signs and patient data accurately in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Communicate effectively with RNs regarding patient observations and needs.
  • Participate in admission, transfer, and discharge procedures.
  • Perform tasks related to specimen collection, patient positioning, and transportation.
  • Ensure infection prevention practices and maintain patient supplies.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for patient care across different age groups.

Licensure, Registration, and Certification Required

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association within 45 days.
  • Active Nurse Aide status in the State Registry.

Education Required

  • GED or High School Diploma.

Experience Required

  • No prior experience necessary.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Effective organization and priority-setting skills.
  • Ability to maintain hospital-based certifications.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to perform various physical tasks including lifting, bending, and reaching.
  • Ability to handle weight up to 50 lbs. and perform transfers with assistance.
  • Functional vision and hearing required.
  • Exposure to various hazards requiring protective measures.
  • Operate necessary equipment for job duties.
